#1: Teach your child to be independent –

Expect more from your toddler. Raise the bar for them constantly. Your child should be able to pour water into a glass, put away the plates after eating and hang up their bags by the time they are in pre-school. They should stop sucking on their thumb and learn to be independent in more ways than one.

#2: Don’t do anything for your child what they can do themselves

We all have seen a lot of parents help their 4 year old help with wearing their shoes, although the child has already been taught how to do that, and even knows how to tie their own laces. Stop doing that! You should encourage the child to apply the lessons taught to them from the very start and appeal to their sense of pride. Instead of helping your son/ daughter with put on their shoes, offer an incentive them for doing it on their own. Offer your child a healthy and snack every time they do that! Similarly, reward them for making their bed in the morning. This is how you encourage good behavior in children.

#3: Give your child little problems to solve
